Meet Our Sibling Co-Founders

Alexandra O'Connell

“Hi! I am so excited to share my story with you all on why I choose to live the LITMO life. In 2017, I graduated from Manhattan College with degrees in broadcasting and digital media arts. While searching for jobs, I decided to work at a local school in order to be close to my mother, who at this point, was diagnosed with stage IV ovarian cancer. When my mother’s illness started to become more aggressive, I quit my job to become her primary caregiver. I was able to spend time with her daily, bringing her to treatments and doctor appointments. Although these moments were difficult to watch, I always admired her continuous laughter and positive mindset. When she passed away in January 2020, I felt angry, hopeless, and incomplete. With each saddened moment, I would remember to live in the moment, just as she did. Soon, I would be smiling again and again. Now, trying to find my path back in this journey of life, I know in my heart that my purpose on this lovely earth is to spread the message of living in the moment while simultaneously helping people that have been through hard times like my family. LITMO means so much to us and I hope that we can spread this potent positivity throughout the world!”

"I graduated the University of Michigan in 2019 and immediately started working for a non-profit in New York City. I also have fun DJing in my spare time. After our mother passed, the pandemic hit two months later which gave us time to think and reflect about how to keep her legacy alive. Often, we take life and each moment for granted. Despite the brutal fight with cancer, our mom was still able to smile, dance, and savor every moment. No matter how tough life may seem, living in the moment and recognizing the good is undefeated. We created LITMO to take the powerful message that we learned from our mother, and use it as a platform to help positively influence the quality of people’s lives. As a family, we felt there was no better way to promote change and add value to people's lives than by using a lesson from a challenge we faced in life. Let's LITMO.”

“I was eleven years old when my mom was diagnosed with cancer and never really understood the severity of the illness she was undergoing. Her continuous positive outlook on life despite her circumstances was always enamoring to me. There is no rule book on how to cope with losing someone who you look up too and the feelings of despair that come with it. Adding in the pandemic shortly after my mother passed was not easy either. Endless amounts of time without school, not being able to see family or friends, and missing out on major milestone events were difficult. However, having the father and family I do is what was able to get me through life's most extravagant struggles and helped to shape me into who I am today. I often found it hard to understand the reason for why this happened at such a young age and to someone I loved more than anything; but with time, you learn to understand that tomorrow is not promised and living in the moment is all you have. Now attending the University of Miami, I am hoping to expand the LITMO message to people everywhere. I'm excited for the world to join us on our journey and live life to its fullest potential.”

"Hi everyone, my name is Jess and I am so happy you are joining our LITMO community! I am currently a family nurse practitioner. My schedule sometimes may be hectic and I know that life often can get into a routine. That routine may cause unintentional oversight of gratitude and the meaningful moments this beautiful life has to offer. Our goal with our merchandise is to spread the word of relishing in those butterfly moments of life and to not overlook the small things that might make us smile! I am beyond appreciative to have learned this life lesson through my mother and feel confident that with practice of living in the moment, you will have the strength to get through anything this crazy life may bring you! Now let’s LITMO together."
